The 12th annual Nantucket Wine Festival will kick off on May 14 and run through Sunday, May 18. This premier wine and food extravaganza is a great kickoff to the island’s busy vacation season. All the fun of Nantucket without crowds of tourists is just one reason people flock to this event. It is simply a world class, sophisticated and people friendly celebration that brings together winemakers and food and wine lovers from around the world. I want to show some Nantucket Daffodil Weekend Photos to people interested in seeing how the islanders welcome spring each year. Tourists visit from many states to see Nantucket bedecked with over 3 million daffodil blooms across the island. In addition there is an Antique and Classic Car parade as well as numerous outdoor picnics. Many of the gourmet restaurants in town open this weekend. I wanted viewers to see some of the Opera House Cup Photos I took during the past several years. I have been photographing this classic wooden boat race on Nantucket, Massachusetts since 1973. I am planning a retrospective to be posted throughout the summer of 2008 to commemorate past races that have not been widely seen by the public at large. This is an exciting race that has captured the imagination of all wooden boat lovers. Vessels from all over the east coast make the journey to the island each summer to participate. Here is a collection of photographs of Nantucket I shot in 2007. All of the images were shot with my Canon Digital. Minimal photoshop work as I chose to keep the images natural.

This next photo of the Sankaty Golf course was shot on film with a high ASA. The grain structure adds a nice texture and feel.
